Become a Volunteer
The Academy Foundation offers members a variety of opportunities to volunteer and give back to the profession. Many members find volunteering for the Foundation easy to fit within the time constraints of their busy schedules and most importantly rewarding and fulfilling.

EyeCare America Volunteers
The Academy Foundation encourages U.S. ophthalmologists to join EyeCare America's corps of 7,500 volunteers in the fight against preventable blindness. For nearly 20 years, these extraordinary men and women have given back to their communities by providing exams and care to patients at no out of pocket costs.

International Volunteers
The International Assistance program offers many volunteer opportunities for ophthalmologists and other ophthalmic professionals who are interested in donating their time and talent in developing nations.

Media Volunteers
Raise awareness for Foundation programs in your hometown by becoming a media volunteer. If you are interested in assisting the Foundation by promoting programs to your local newspaper, radio or TV stations, please contact us at 415.561.8518.
