For more than 30 years, the Foundation of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (FAAO) has been dedicated to the prevention of global blindness through education and service.
Foundation funding has enabled the development of innovative educational programs for ophthalmologists; facilitated vital health policy research; and helped to improve patient care to save the sight of millions worldwide. The Academy programs and services we support significantly impact communities on every continent.
Whether it's providing critical educational resources to physicians in the developing world, administering no-cost services to underserved patients in the United States, or educating ophthalmologists on the latest surgical advancements, the FAAO's mission is to support the Academy's programs so people everywhere – from Indiana to India – can live a life without blindness or visual impairment.
